The regular series of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles takes a breather and makes way for a story of their enemies And the story may not survive this encounter!

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series steps aside to make way for the two nastiest, rudest, filthiest and most unpleasant mutants in town: Bebop and Rocksteady. They have accidentally traveled in time, and have found a new boss, and themselves before they mutated, and another way of traveling in time, and the turtles, and themselves again… If they continue at this rate the continuum space-time is going to disappear, and it’s up to the chelonian brothers to fix the problem, with the invaluable support of Renet, the apprentice time lord, hopefully this time she will really help. The world of mutants is getting more and more full and the problems seem endless. The war between Kitsune and his brothers and Splinter’s rise as leader of the Foot Clan worry the Turtles. But as if that weren’t enough, Bebop and Rocksteady, the Shredder’s last mutants are on the loose causing trouble. And this time on a cosmic level. A trip back in time, a new boss and now it’s up to our reptilian protagonists to come to the rescue.

This miniseries is not intended to continue any arc of the main series.

It only explains one more adventure of the Turtles and their enemies. But it is so funny that it deserves the interruption of the mother series. It’s not that all mutants are short-headed, it’s just that Bebop and Rocksteady were before and they were joined to animals that didn’t stand out for their intelligence either. The result is that they are only interested in having a job and being able to earn money to show off and to be able to fight to earn money and thus earn money to buy things to show off and thus in a loop of madness and violence where they feel more comfortable than a pig in a pigsty

The authors

ben bates and Dustin Weaver they are the minds behind the crazy idea, and Weaver himself puts it into practice with the pencils. With a clear line style and few blacks and no gray it works very well in action and thug comedy. In the last number there are several invited authors who, with the contrast, leave an even more extravagant closing. But this volume is still the Turtles series, so we also find the first issues of the Ninja Turtles Universe., the parallel series to the main one that tells the adventures of the quartet and all the mutants beyond the main arcs, and that completes the world building of this universe that grows every year. It is only the first part of an arc, which we will analyze completely in the next volume, but as an appetizer, it is the presentation of the government’s counterattack against the huge number of mutants that are emerging. Ninja Turtles are more fashionable than ever with a new movie about to arrive and with several series (new and old that are still out there) on television and streaming. But it is still in the comic where we find a work that not only advocates entertainment, and always leaves a more powerful residue.
