The world of cosplay has recently been amazed with a unique interpretation by the talented cosplayer “Manju (饅頭)“. On this occasion, she decided to impersonate Ai Hoshinothe popular character from the franchise “Oshi no Ko“. However, what has really caught the attention is that Manju chose to depicting the heartbreaking moment when Ai is stabbed to death by an obsessed fan, instead of dressing like her idol Ai Hoshino. To understand the context of this choice, we must go back to the events of the original manga. In the story, one day someone visits the Hoshino residence and, carrying a bouquet of flowers, congratulates Ai and asks about the welfare of her twins. However, this individual, filled with resentment, proceeds to brutally stab Ai in the stomach, accusing her of lying to him and his fans. Despite the severity of her injury, Ai performs a monologue about dishonesty as an idol and admits that lies are a form of love for her. Tragically, Ai bleeds to death while she is accompanied by her two children.
Although Manju’s outfit and portrayal were applauded on social media, there is no denying that the scene evokes feelings of sadness and shock among those familiar with the story. However, many admired the cosplayer’s bravery in choosing such an impactful and memorable facet of the “Oshi no Ko” character.
