Actor Chris Hemsworth reveals his opinion of what should happen to Thor at Marvel Studios.
It was the summer of 2022 and with the typical heat of this time, the fourth installment of the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) from the Marvel Cinematic Universe arrived. The feelings were mixed, since in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) he is one of the most prominent characters, but in Avengers: Endgame (2019) we see him out of shape. Luckily, Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) had some interesting incentives, since its director was Taika Waititi responsible for Thor: Ragnatok (2017) and the UCM also welcomed Gorr, Christian Bale’s villain. Not to forget, the return of Natalie Portman as a Jane Foster with powers. But in the end the result was not what was expected. Now, Chris Hemsworth confesses that he is aware that the film became something too silly. This was revealed in a recent interview in GQ, since some of his children’s friends saw the film and gave him their opinion: “It is a group of eight-year-old children who criticize my film. We thought this one had too much humor, the action was great but the visual effects weren’t that great. I shudder and laugh equally at that. I think we had too much fun. It just got too dumb.” “It’s always hard to be in the center and get a real perspective. I love the process, it’s always a ride. But you just don’t know how people are going to respond.”
The actor is clear about the future of Marvel’s God of thunder.
Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love and Thunder After Thor: Love and Thunder he will reportedly return to the MCU, but Chris Hemsworth is waiting to see what they have to offer him creatively and if there’s anything new. The projects where he could appear are Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2026).Although, according to him, it’s time to kill off the character:“Yes, sure. I feel like we’d probably have to close the book if I ever did it again, you know what I mean? I feel like it probably justifies it. I feel like it would probably be the end of it, but that’s not based on anything anyone told me or any kind of plan. You have this birth of a hero, a hero’s journey, then the death of a hero, and I don’t know… am I at that stage? Who knows?”.
