Original Movies Star Drew Barrymore Says He’d Like To Star In A Third Charlie’s Angels Movie

Drew Barrymore starred in two movies Charlie’s Angels, and now the actress has revealed that she would be willing to reunite with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu for a third installment. Drew Barrymore doesn’t appear on our screens as much anymore, but the actress has now revealed that she would be up to reunite with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu for a new Charlie’s Angels movie. Speaking to People about his upcoming projects, Barrymore addressed Mindy Kaling’s recent suggestion that he should return to the franchise: “Those are interesting challenges because they’ve been established. That really builds on something,” she said. “There is so much history there that they don’t feel like [del trabajo de] make films. It’s like, ‘Do you want to spend your life doing that? With those people?’ Yes. It would show up. I really would.” In the same interview, Barrymore also shared his interest in teaming up with Adam Sandler again after co-starring in 50 First Dates, Blended and The Right Guy.

nostalgia factor

Clearly, Barrymore would be looking to tap into that nostalgia factor, and as the producer of the original movies, there’s a good chance she could reunite with her co-stars. The first film of the adaptation of the famous television series of the 70s with Barrymore as the protagonist along with Lucy Liu and Cameron Díaz obtained 264 million dollars worldwide and three years later it had a sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and despite the criticism, the film managed to raise 259 million dollars worldwide. It must be remembered that the actress was also an executive producer of the attempted reboot in the form of a series for ABC in 2011 but it was canceled after episode 8, despite have 13 scheduled due to their low audience data. Later Charlie’s Angels, returned to have another theatrical reboot in 2019 with Barrymore again as executive producer, with Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska replacing the original trio. The film did not receive a very positive response from critics who gave it a 52% on Rotten Tomatoes and the reboot ended in disaster, the film cost 48 million dollars and could only collect 73 million worldwide. With that In mind, a sequel to the 2019 film seems likely, let alone another reboot in the future, though the best way to reignite interest in this series is probably to bring Barrymore, Diaz, and Liu back. Would you like to see a third installment of Charlie’s Angels?
