The next great Amazon Prime Video series will be produced by and star Henry Cavill. This project can be a bomb.

Henry Cavill has signed on with Amazon to make his next big series. Although his stint as the Man of Steel may have come to an end, the British actor is already gearing up for his next project: an adaptation of the popular miniature war game Warhammer 40,000. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavill will star and executive producer of a new series based on Warhammer 40,000 that Amazon Prime Video is currently preparing. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the streaming platform is currently in “final talks” to acquire the rights to the game from owner Games Workshop after a competitive bidding war. At the moment there are no writers or directors for the project, although Vertigo Entertainment will executive produce with the former Superman actor.

What can we expect from Warhammer 40,000?

Warhammer 40,000, also known as Warhammer 40K or simply Warhammer, is a board game created by Games Workshop in 1987. In it, players simulate battles using miniature warriors and vehicles. As its title suggests, Warhammer 40K is set approximately 40,000 years in the future. The story of the game revolves around a stagnant human society facing aliens and various supernatural creatures.. Henry Cavill will be the main protagonist of this new adaptation of a video game courtesy of Amazon Prime Video. The franchise is considered the most popular miniatures game in the world. However, most of its players reside in the United Kingdom, its place of origin. Interestingly, Henry Cavill is a native of Saint Helier. Over the years, the new saga of Amazon Prime Video has given rise to numerous derivative products, such as other board games, video games, music, novels, an animated film and comics published by companies like Titan and Marvel. There has also been talk of a possible adaptation to a live action series.
