And it shows that Gunn loves these characters despite putting them in the most parodic tricky situations. I think that It has been a good choice to focus attention on Mantis and Drax as the duo have already shown what a good game they were in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and in this special they shine brighter than ever, allowing us to cry with laughter with Pom Klementieff, the one we have in Guardians of the Galaxy and Eternals, but did anyone remember this? While Drax gives us some of the most peculiar scenes. Dave Batista is cool. Without forgetting Kevin Bacon who has become an unwitting victim of Christmas. Quite a surprise to see the debut of Kevin Bacon at Marvel Studios. And the records that he can give us in a short space of time. We can’t forget Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket, Nebula, Cosmos, and Kraglin. And Yondu!Guardians of the Galaxy: Happy Holidays Special gives us a roller coaster of emotions that will make us laugh, cry inconsolably and explode with love. A story of walking around the house
This special offers us a story to walk around the house in which hardly anything important happens for the future of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, but that does not detract from its excitement since what it tries to scratch is precisely that. Soften our hearts for what is to come. The story does not lend itself to having great action sequences or anything like that, so we are not going to have abundant special effects either and it is appreciated. It is something smaller and more intimate. Mantis and Drax are not my favorite Guardians of the Galaxy, but the game they give in this special makes it clear that James Gunn loves all his characters equally. We have references and nods to Eternals, Moon Knight and other key moments from The Infinity Saga. It’s a cute Christmas Carol in the tradition of Marvel Comics’ seasonal specials. I found him very fresh and intelligent. The humor that is spent has made me laugh out loud. The songs and the soundtrack have seemed to me the most captivating. And James Gunn returns to mark a good compilation for the occasion. I don’t know, I didn’t ask for much from this special either and in the end it was quite an experience and a very pleasant surprise.
