The anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, chainsaw manis definitely one of the most watched series of the entire season of Autumn-2022 (October-2022). This massive popularity is why anything related to the franchise, especially anything to do with pochitathe lovable demon that accompanies Denji, immediately goes viral on social media. The Twitter account “Pochita (@NezukoSocial)” take advantage of the algorithm to position yourself by publishing things focused on pochita to get thousands of reactions. One of his most recent uploads was a video of a stuffed animal pochita spinning inside a washing machine, accompanied by the text “Help me!“. It is certainly interesting to observe the way in which the popularity of a series currently on air can be used to massively increase the numbers on social networks. Artists and illustrators are quick to take advantage of this to share content, as has previously happened with the adaptation of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling) in Winter-2022. The most interesting thing is that there is another video that also shows a Pochita stuffed animal spinning inside a dryer. Maybe it will become a trend in the future?

There is also a video of a “Mexican Pochita“, with a stuffed animal with a hat and a salsa version of the opening theme of chainsaw manoriginally performed by Kenshi Yonezu. Synopsis for Chainsaw Man

The story takes place in a world where Demons threaten the peace of humans, making them targets to be eliminated. Denji is a young and depressed man who has sold several of his organs and works as a lumberjack and demon hunter to pay off his late father’s debt. Denji owns a dog (who is also a demon) named Pochita, who has chainsaws and which he uses to do his work. This is explained because humans can make contracts with demons. After returning home from a job, Denji is called in by a Yakuza to infiltrate a building and assassinate another demon. However, the plan was a trap to kill him as part of a Yakuza contract with the demon, gaining them more power.
