There are sagas so long that they are very difficult to adapt and an example is The Dark Tower. They should give it another chance though.

Then other extensive works have tried to follow in his footsteps and we have other great examples such as Game of Thrones either The Witcher, which have benefited from the rise of streaming. But… Is it possible to make a great adaptation of The Dark Tower? In 2017 they released the film of The Dark Tower directed by Nikolay Arcel and starring Idris Elbe Y Matthew McConaughey. It was not only very poorly received by fans of the books of Stephen King, but it was also a small box office flop. Since it cost about 60 million dollars and raised only 113 million worldwide.
Now there is so much money in the series that are released on streaming that it may be time to try again.

It would just be a matter of taking the more fantastical elements that might be more difficult to connect with, especially where it gets quite meta at the midpoint, and grounding them, just incorporating them. Otherwise, the characters are who they are, the arc is what it is. And I think the way not to do The Dark Tower is to try to make it into something else, try to make it Star Wars or make it Lord of the Rings. It is what it is. It is perfect.
