GTA 6 is one of the most anticipated projects in the history of video games with Grand Theft Auto V about to turn 10 years old
Rockstar has publicly acknowledged that a GTA 6 is in the works. Emerging reports suggest that the title “will feature a playable female lead” and will take place in Vice City (a fictional Miami). But nothing of the title has been shown and no official announcement has yet been made for its release. However, a lot of screenshots and videos of the gameplay have been leaked. That some already qualify as the biggest video game leak in history. And although some described these leaks as fake, the thing has become serious when Rockstar has recognized that these materials are real, and has taken action against those responsible for the leaks. The developer of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar Games, has begun to block and report all leaked materials that have been appearing on the network. And it has disabled comments on all of its social media channels in an effort to stop the leak from spreading.
Rockstar Games took to social media to directly address the leaks with an official statement, saying that the data breach was due to “a network intrusion”:
“We recently experienced a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded sensitive information from our systems, including early development footage for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any interruptions to our live game services or any long-term effects on the development of our ongoing projects.” The studio stated that the leak would not affect the development of Grand Theft Auto 6: “We are extremely disappointed that the details of our next game will be shared with all of you in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned. And we remain as committed as ever to providing you, our players, with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone again soon and of course we will properly introduce this next game to you when it is ready. We want to thank everyone for their continued support through this situation.”
What has been known about the new GTA?
Among the highlights are rumors of GTA 6 protagonists Bonnie and Clyde robbing a restaurant. They enter a strip club and witness firsthand how the NCPs will act and converse in the game. And it’s confirmed to be set in Vice City. There are also hints that Rockstar is following Red Dead Redemption 2’s lead. By giving players a realistic number of weapons and having them carry them on their person instead of pulling out a flamethrower giant out of nowhere Those NCPs also seem more realistic than ever, and we can’t help but think that this… could be the best game ever?
