Well, the project seems to have paid off, as the third installment will be released very soon in less than 1 year. Just in October of last year we informed you of the announcement of Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, developed by the Alim studio and published by Square Enix. A new iteration of this series, Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, was revealed in February, and a new game in the series will debut on September 13.

Voice of Cards continues to expand
You read it right, the card franchise is going to get bigger with its new installment, Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden, which will appear before the original game is 1 year old on the market. Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden will tell a standalone story, so you don’t need to have played Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars or Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden to understand the plot of the new installment. One of the novelties of this new iteration is the possibility of capturing monsters that the player defeats to use them later as skills in combat. “Follow the new story set in a world where millennia of hatred rages between monsters and humans, and a young woman who loses her home swears revenge on the monsters. She teams up with a mysterious boy and they embark into the unknown and unravel the fate of this broken world,” reads the description of the game, which will only be released digitally.

Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden will have a deluxe edition
Best of all for fans of the series’ creator, Drakengard, and NieR, there will be a Digital Deluxe Edition, offering various NieR Re-themed DLC items.[in]carnation, precisely costumes for the protagonists of the adventure, Mama’s avatar, the Story Collector’s Dice, the Handbook Pattern, a board and accessories with Cage designs, a mode that replaces the character illustrations with pixels, Melody of reincarnation and more. Players who preorder or purchase Voice of Cards: The Beasts of Burden will also get the DLC Iron Avatar Y Hat Girl’s Abstract Pattern. Something interesting is that the Game Master (the voice or the narrator) of the Japanese version of this new installment will be Yui Ishikawa, actress who gives voice to 2B in NieR: Automata, so in some way it can be said that the players will be accompanied by the beloved android.
