Responsible for Sonic wants to continue Sonic Adventure

However, this is not to say that SEGA has forgotten about this beloved sub-series; on the contrary, one of the main creatives responsible for the franchise wants to continue with it and release Sonic Adventure 3. In an interview with IGN about Sonic Frontiers, Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team and the franchise’s top manager, reiterated that he would like to ” continue the Sonic Adventure series at some point. The creative refers that in the titles of this subseries there were Adventure Fields that, although they offered a smaller space, had some techniques that are being of great help for Sonic Frontiers.
In case you missed it: Sonic 3: The Movie already has a release window and could incorporate elements of Sonic Adventure.

So why hasn’t Sonic Adventure 3 come true?

You may be wondering why if the most important creative in charge of the series wants to continue with Sonic Adventure it is something that has not come true. What happens is that in the interview Iizuka also confessed that he and his team preferred to make Sonic Frontiers and incorporate open areas (something like an open world) into the series for the first time in order to have more creative freedom and be able to innovate instead of make a classic 3D Sonic action game that has elements that players have already seen. Unfortunately, Iizuka says he hasn’t thought about his next game yet, so if it’s Sonic Adventure 3, it would be years away from being ready. Of course, he mentioned that he hopes that all the work they are doing on Sonic Frontiers can be used to make a new Sonic Adventure. Would you like to see the return of Sonic Adventure?
